Deriva urbana. A part not apart from a place.
A coproduction between the National Theatre of Croatia in Rijeka, Mittelfest in Cividale del Friuli and Eléctrico 28.
Deriva urbana: A part not apart from a place is a piece that was conceptualized, created and directed by Eléctrico 28 for five actors of the Croatian National Theatre company DRA(M)MA ITALIANO Rijeka/Fiume. It premiered in Rijeka in June 2023 and was adapted to Cividale del Friuli in the framework of the Festival Mittelfest in July that same year.
A part not apart from a place is a street drift into observing, sensing, imagining and inhabiting places; into wondering if places ever end up (at a certain point); how they are ordered (or disordered); how they can turn into something like home. It is an ode to the streets, squares and other public places where life happens and an invitation to subliminally inhabit them in the creative, collective and corporal realm.
But we have time. Places don’t leave. There’s need to hurry, no need to find ourselves on Google maps. Today, we will simply experience a different way of relating to people, things and places.
